Disabled Facilities Grants and Adaptations
.
This section is in need of expert input to provide detail of the rights of disabled people to home adaptations in Wales. If you are able to provide material for this section please contact anjames57@gmail.com
Disabled Facilities Grants can be obtained from councils to help adapt homes to make them safe and accessible for disabled people and their families. The rights derives from Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 and is a right very similar to that in England.
Adaptations can also be provided under the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014.
A brief guide (Housing for Disabled Children and Families (2012)) on the right in Wales can be accessed by clicking here.
