Webinar: Wednesday December 8th: 10am
Parent Carer Blame: bringing about meaningful change.
A 90 minute, free webinar that provides: (1) an overview of 2021 Research report that describes how local authority policies create a culture of ‘parent carer blame’ when parent carers seek help for their disabled child; and (2) the action being taken locally and nationally to bring about meaningful change to these policies and practices.
Professor Luke Clements and Dr Ana Laura Aiello will provide a brief outline of the research findings and Cerebra’s strategy to change local practice and national guidance (namely ‘Working Together 2018‘). Two local parent carer organisations will then describe their engagement with their local councils to effect change. This will then be followed by an open discussion and information sharing session.
