Coronavirus and direct payments
Interesting update guidance from the Department of Health and Social Care concerning the ‘Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme: people receiving direct payments’.
My good colleague Steve Brett has flagged up this guidance and in particular the final example that it lists (example 4). This concerns his namesake ‘Brett’ – who is a direct payment recipient who is shielding. Because of this Brett prefers not to be visited by his PA and in this situation the guidance confirms that it would be appropriate for him to use his direct payment to pay his brother (with whom be lives) to provide the care Brett needs.
The guidance can be accessed by clicking here.
